Daily Rewards & Chests

FarFISH offers daily reward chests that you can claim every 24 hours. Build streaks, earn FRH tokens, and track your progress through consistent participation.

Chest System Overview

There are three chest types in FarFISH:

Bronze Chest (Daily)

  • Reward: 3 FRH
  • Cooldown: 24 hours
  • Requirements: None (available to all users)
  • Always available once cooldown expires

Silver Chest

  • Reward: 6 FRH
  • Cooldown: 24 hours
  • Requirements: Must have an active NFT stake or hold at least one NFT
  • Premium feature for NFT holders

Gold Chest

  • Status: Coming Soon
  • Purpose: Future gaming milestone rewards
  • Not yet implemented

How the Chest System Works

Cooldown Periods

All chests use 24-hour cooldown timers:

  1. Claim a chest - Receive FRH tokens immediately
  2. Cooldown starts - 24-hour timer begins
  3. Wait 24 hours - Chest cannot be claimed during cooldown
  4. Cooldown expires - Chest becomes available again
  5. Repeat - Claim and restart the cycle

Important: The cooldown is based on your last claim time, not a fixed daily reset. If you claim at 3:00 PM today, the chest unlocks at 3:00 PM tomorrow.

Smart Contract Integration

Chest availability is enforced on-chain by the Claim Controller contract. See Contract Addresses for details.

Contract Functions:

  • canClaimDailyChest(address) → Returns (bool canClaim, uint256 timeLeft)
  • canClaimSilverChest(address) → Returns (bool canClaim, uint256 timeLeft, bool hasStaked)
  • claimDailyChest() → Transfers 3 FRH to caller
  • claimSilverChest() → Transfers 6 FRH to caller (requires stake/NFT)

The contract automatically validates eligibility and cooldown before allowing claims.

Claiming Bronze Chest (Daily Chest)

Prerequisites

To claim the Bronze Chest:

  • ✅ Wallet connected to FarFISH
  • ✅ On Base Mainnet (network details)
  • ✅ Enough ETH for gas (~$0.05-$0.20)
  • ✅ 24-hour cooldown expired

No NFT required - This chest is available to everyone.

Step-by-Step Claiming Process

  1. Navigate to Chest Page

    • Go to /chest in any FarFISH app
    • View the Bronze Chest card

  2. Check Availability

    • If available: "Claim" button is enabled (green)
    • If on cooldown: Button shows time remaining (e.g., "12h 34m")
    • Time updates live every second

  3. Click "Claim Chest" button

  4. Approve Transaction

    • Your wallet prompts for confirmation
    • Review the transaction details
    • Gas cost displayed in wallet
    • Approve the transaction

  5. Wait for Confirmation

    • Transaction processes on Base blockchain (~2 seconds)
    • Success message appears: "Bronze Chest claimed!"
    • 3 FRH tokens added to your wallet

  6. Cooldown Restarts

    • Timer resets to 24 hours
    • Next claim available tomorrow at the same time

Tracking Your Claims

On Chest Page:

  • Total Rewards - Cumulative FRH earned from chests
  • Streak - Consecutive days claimed
  • Days Active - Total lifetime active days

LocalStorage Tracking:

  • ff_bronze_claimed_today - Tracks daily claim status
  • ff_last_claim_date - Last claim timestamp
  • ff_total_rewards - Running total of FRH earned
  • ff_streak - Current streak count

Claiming Silver Chest

Prerequisites

To claim the Silver Chest, you must:

  • ✅ Have an active NFT stake OR
  • ✅ Hold at least one FarFISH NFT in your wallet
  • ✅ 24-hour cooldown expired
  • ✅ Wallet connected to Base Mainnet (network details)
  • ✅ Enough ETH for gas

Premium Feature: Silver Chest requires NFT ownership.

NFT Requirement

The contract checks if you:

Option 1: Active Stake

  • Have at least one active stake in the staking contract
  • Stake must not be unstaked
  • Lock period can be active or expired (still counts)

Option 2: NFT Holding

  • Own at least one FarFISH NFT in your wallet
  • Any token ID (0-15) qualifies
  • Any quantity (even 1 NFT works)

If either condition is true, Silver Chest is available.

Step-by-Step Claiming Process

  1. Navigate to Chest Page

    • Go to /chest in any FarFISH app
    • View the Silver Chest card

  2. Verify NFT Requirement

    • The card displays your stake/NFT status:
      • ✅ "Has Active Stake" - Green checkmark
      • ❌ "No Active Stake" - Red X (chest disabled)
    • If disabled, see "How to Unlock Silver Chest" below

  3. Check Availability

    • If available: "Claim" button is enabled
    • If on cooldown: Button shows time remaining
    • If NFT missing: Button shows "Stake NFT Required"

  4. Click "Claim Chest" button

  5. Approve Transaction

    • Your wallet prompts for confirmation
    • 6 FRH will be transferred
    • Approve the transaction

  6. Wait for Confirmation

    • Transaction confirms on Base blockchain
    • Success message: "Silver Chest claimed!"
    • 6 FRH tokens added to your wallet

  7. Cooldown Restarts

    • Timer resets to 24 hours
    • Next claim available tomorrow

How to Unlock Silver Chest

If Silver Chest shows "Stake NFT Required":

Option A: Stake an NFT

  1. Navigate to /stake page
  2. Click "Stake NFT"
  3. Choose an NFT and lock duration
  4. Confirm staking transaction
  5. Return to /chest page
  6. Silver Chest now available

Option B: Mint an NFT

  1. Navigate to home page (/)
  2. Click "Mint Premium Pass"
  3. Approve and confirm transaction
  4. NFT mints to your wallet
  5. Return to /chest page
  6. Silver Chest now available (even without staking)

Option C: Transfer an NFT

  1. Receive an NFT from another wallet
  2. Ensure it's a FarFISH NFT (token IDs 0-15)
  3. NFT appears in your wallet
  4. Silver Chest automatically unlocks

Streak Tracking

How Streaks Work

FarFISH tracks consecutive days you claim chests:

Streak Increases:

  • Claim any chest (Bronze or Silver)
  • If last claim was yesterday: Streak +1
  • Maximum streak: Unlimited

Streak Resets:

  • Miss a day (>24 hours since last eligible claim)
  • Streak returns to 1 on next claim
  • Days active never resets (lifetime counter)

Grace Period:

  • You have 24 hours after cooldown expires
  • Claim within 48 hours total to maintain streak
  • After 48 hours: Streak resets

Viewing Your Streak

Chest Page:

  • Streak - Current consecutive days (top of Trust Anchor card)
  • Days Active - Lifetime total days claimed
  • Last Claim Date - ISO date of last claim

Streak Example:

  • Day 1: Claim → Streak = 1
  • Day 2: Claim → Streak = 2
  • Day 3: Claim → Streak = 3
  • Day 4: Miss → Streak remains 3 (within grace period)
  • Day 5: Claim → Streak = 4 (grace period used)
  • Day 6: Miss (no claim within 48h) → Streak resets
  • Day 7: Claim → Streak = 1 (new streak started)

Days Active:

  • Always increases when you claim
  • Never decreases
  • Shows lifetime engagement

Streak Benefits

Currently, streaks are tracked but not rewarded:

  • ✅ Displayed on profile and chest page
  • ✅ Shows commitment to community
  • ✅ Builds reputation
  • ❌ No additional FRH bonuses (yet)

Future Plans: Streak-based rewards may be implemented (e.g., bonus multipliers, exclusive NFTs for long streaks).

Daily Reward Value

If claiming both chests daily:

  • Per Day: 9 FRH
  • Per Week: 63 FRH
  • Per Month (30 days): 270 FRH
  • Per Year (365 days): 3,285 FRH

With perfect consistency, this is the maximum chest-based FRH income.

Reward Distribution

On Claim:

  1. Smart contract validates eligibility
  2. Transfers FRH from Claim Controller to your wallet
  3. FRH appears in your wallet immediately
  4. Can view balance in wallet or FarFISH apps

Viewing FRH Balance:

  • Add FRH token to your wallet manually
  • Check Chest page Trust Anchor card
  • View Profile page wallet stats

Chest Claiming Strategies

Optimal Claiming Times

Strategy 1: Fixed Daily Time

  • Choose a specific time each day (e.g., 8:00 AM)
  • Set a reminder on your phone
  • Builds routine and maintains streaks easily

Strategy 2: Flexible Within Window

  • Claim anytime after cooldown expires
  • Use 24-hour grace period for flexibility
  • Reduces pressure of exact timing

Strategy 3: Gas Price Optimization

  • Monitor Base network gas prices
  • Claim during low-traffic periods (late night UTC)
  • Save on transaction costs

Maximizing Rewards

  1. Claim Both Chests Daily
  • 9 FRH per day is the maximum
  • Don't let Silver Chest go unclaimed if you have an NFT
  1. Maintain Streaks
  • Even if no immediate benefit, future rewards may favor long streaks
  • Demonstrates community engagement
  1. Mint/Stake NFT for Silver Chest
  • Silver Chest doubles your daily rewards (3 → 9 FRH)
  • ROI: If staking for 30 days, Silver Chest adds 180 FRH (30 days × 6 FRH)
  1. Set Reminders
  • Use phone/calendar reminders
  • Check FarFISH daily to avoid missed claims
  • Maintain streaks for potential future bonuses

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I claim multiple chests at once?
Yes, if both Bronze and Silver cooldowns are expired, claim both in the same session. Each is a separate transaction.

What happens if I forget to claim for a week?
Your streak resets, but chests don't "stack"-you can only claim the current day's chest. Missed days are lost.

Do chests expire?
No, once a cooldown expires, the chest remains claimable indefinitely until you claim it. However, you can't accumulate multiple days.

Can I claim chests in different FarFISH apps?
Yes, but cooldown is shared across all apps (same smart contract). If you claim Bronze Chest in Web App, it's on cooldown in Base App too.

What if my NFT stake expires-do I lose Silver Chest access?
No, even after the lock period ends, the stake still counts as "active" until you unstake. You keep Silver Chest access.

Can I claim if I transfer my NFT after claiming?
Yes, eligibility is checked at the moment of claim. If you had an NFT when claiming Silver Chest, the claim succeeds even if you transfer the NFT afterward.

Do chests reward more FRH over time?
Currently, no. Reward amounts are fixed (3 FRH Bronze, 6 FRH Silver). Future updates may introduce dynamic rewards or streak bonuses.

Can I claim chests on behalf of another wallet?
No, you can only claim chests for your connected wallet. Rewards always go to the caller's address.

What if the transaction fails?
Common failure reasons:

  • Insufficient gas
  • Cooldown not expired
  • Missing NFT (Silver Chest)
  • Network congestion

Advanced Tips

Gas Optimization

Minimize Gas Costs:

  • Wait for low gas periods (night hours UTC)
  • Batch multiple claims if cooldowns align
  • Use wallets that estimate gas accurately

Gas Cost Estimates:

  • Bronze Chest claim: ~30,000-50,000 gas
  • Silver Chest claim: ~35,000-60,000 gas
  • At 1 gwei gas price: ~$0.05-$0.10 per claim

Cross-App Claiming

All FarFISH apps use the same smart contracts:

Claim in Any App:

  • Chest cooldown is universal
  • Claiming in Web App = cooldown in Base App
  • Choose your preferred UI

Why Use Different Apps:

  • Web App - Most feature-complete
  • Base App - Coinbase Wallet optimization
  • Farcaster Mini App - Claim from Farcaster client
